Terms of Service

The service
SHP Converter converts geographic data files (including Shapefile, GeoJSON, KML and GeoPackage) between formats and coordinate systems, on a subscription basis. We may add or retire formats over time; the formats available when you convert are the ones shown on the site.
Plans and limits
Each plan has a monthly conversion allowance, a per-file size limit and a per-upload batch limit, as shown on the pricing page. One conversion is one file successfully converted. Allowances reset at the start of each calendar month and do not roll over. We enforce limits on the server; attempts to bypass them may lead to suspension.
Your files and responsibilities
- You must have the right to upload and convert every file you submit.
- You are responsible for checking conversion results before using them for decisions that matter — surveying, engineering, navigation and legal boundary work require professional verification.
- Do not upload malware, or files designed to exploit the service.
- Uploads and results are deleted 72 hours after conversion; keep your own copies.
Accuracy
We report feature counts, fields and coordinate systems for every conversion and flag changes we detect, but conversion between formats with different data models (for example, Shapefile's 10-character field names) can involve documented, format-inherent loss. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of fitness for a particular purpose.
Payments and cancellation
Paid plans are billed monthly through Paddle, our merchant of record. You can cancel at any time; the plan stays active until the end of the paid period and then returns to the Free plan. Refunds follow our refund policy.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
